Graham says we're to be dump trucks. Meaning we're to dump ... unload ... get rid of our loads by handing them over to God.
"The driver simply pushes a button or pulls a lever and the heavy load is discharged at the prescribed spot," writes Graham. "The truck would be of no use if it carried its burden forever."
And yet we (okay, I) love to hold on to them. Nurse them. Turn them into mile-high worries. Instead of asking God to deal with them.
"We were never meant to be crushed under the weight of care," adds Graham. "We can push the button of faith or pull the lever of trust, and our burden is discharged upon the shoulder of Him who said He would gladly bear it."
I like that.
I'm going to start thinking of myself as a dump truck. Pushing that button of faith, pulling that lever of trust.
Woa! What if I float right out of my chair?! ;-)
